I know this is two years old, but I don't want anyone else to suffer the rage I just experienced trying to figure this piece of crap question with my 3rd grader. I think they are asking you to come up with two amounts such as $5.20 (5 dollars and 2 dimes) and $4.68 (any combination), where you would have to make change for one of your dimes in order to give the second amount away. If you have 5 dollars and 2 dimes and wanted to give someone 4 dollars, 6 dimes, and 8 pennies, you would have to trade 1 dime for 10 pennies.
