let the height of both triangles be h
let the base of triangle A be 2x
let the base of triangle B be 2y
slope of side of A = h/x
slope of side of B = h/x
but h/x = 2 (h/y
1/x = 2/y
y = 2x
or
x = (1/2)y ----> base of A is half that of B
let the base of triangle A be 2x
