Find the lateral and surface area of the right rectangular prism whose length is 7 cm, width is 5 cm, and height is 1.5 cm.
I think the answer is 36 for lateral area and 106 as surface area. I made a formula, 2(7 x 1.5 + 1.5 x 5)) and I got 36. Then I made another formula, 36 + 2(7 x 5) and I got 106. Is this right?

I didn't check the math, but the formulas are right. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.

The "sides" (lateral) dimensions depend upon which side is up. You did not count the larger surface areas at the top and bottom when computing lateral area, and that is probably OK. The total area of the six sides is 2[(7x5) + (1.5x5) =(7x1.5)] = 106 cm^2
