What products are formed when sucrose is heated in an aqueous sulfuric acid solution? What role does the acid play?

I assume this is NOT concentrated H2SO4 but a dilute solution. A dilute solution plays the role of a catalyst and hydrolyzes the sucrose to its two monomers. They are glucose and fructose.
