You can use Heron's formula, which calculates the area of a triangle from the lengths of the three sides.

Let a,b,c=lengths of the three sides
s=(a+b+c)/2
Area of triangle
=sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

I believe the figure is a trapezoid. I have misread it as a triangle (with given sides a, b and c).

The area of a trapezoid (trapezium) is
(a+b)h/2
=(12+14)*8/2
=104
