The formula b=27a, is used in New England to estimate the minimum furnace output, b, in BTUs, for a modern house with a square feet of flooring. What is the minimum furnace output for BTUs? What is the answer to A?
I have searched and listened to all kinds of algebra help websites. Can someone please explain this one to me?

I am wondering what your question is.
If one has a house of area A, then the BTU's required is 27*A
If one has a furnace which supplies B btu's, then the amount of floorspace it can heat is b/27.
I got that by thinking. YOu cant get websites to do that for you.
To actually compute a value of heat in BTU,you have to have the amount of floorspace.
