A girl sits on a merry-go-round at the position marked by the brown circle. A boy gives the merry-go-round a constant tangential push for 0.21 seconds as shown in the animation (position is in meters and time is in seconds). What is the magnitude of the tangential acceleration of the girl while the boy is pushing the merry-go-round?
I've tried solving this problem with both rotational kinematic equations and I keep getting it wrong what do I need to find in order to start this problem? and how do I start it if not with these problems?

I don't see you figure, brown circle or animation. We need more than the 0.21 s to answer your question with a numerical answer.
The angular acceleration will be equal to the applied torque divided by the moment of inertia. I hope you know how to compute both.
