This is a response to bobpursley's answer of Pr(0) = .3; Pr(1) = 7*.3; Pr(2) = 7*.7.
Can you show me how you arrived at the above answers? Also, what does * mean?
Thanks.

a basketball player shoots 70% of freethrows he has a 1 an 1 what is the probability of him shooting o,1,2 points
* algebra - bobpursley, Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 12:41pm
Pr(0)=.3
Pr(1)= .7*.3
pr(2)=.7*.7
----------------------------------
* means times, multiply
probability of success on any throw = .7
thus
probability of failure on any throw = .3
probability of his missing first shot = .3
probability of his making first. missing second = .7 * .3 = .21
probability of his making first, then making second = .7 * .7 = .49
