Asked by Cliff

Hi !

Could you please help me to see through this problem.

*I know it's asking me to find the hydrogen ion concentration in a bleach sample.

*If the pH meter reads 9.55..this suggest to me this is a base. Maybe,I can use the equation:
pOH = -log (OH^-)
= -log (9.55)
= 0.980.
That's the answer I get.
If I plug that value into the equation: pH + pOH = 14
pH + 0.980 = 14
=13.0

I might have gone the wrong way. Please help me.

Thank You.

I'm really not sure where to go with this problem. I missing something;I hope you can help me.

The only thing I get when reading your "question" is that you are confused and don't know which way to turn. However, you haven't post a problem. All you tell us is the pH. What is the question? And what other information do you have?
