A hockey puck sliding on the ice with velocity 10m/sec is stopped by a goalie in 0.10sec. what is the goalie stopping distance ∆x in doing so.

force=mass*10m/s /.10 sec= 100mass
but force*distance= 1/2 m v^2
distance= 1/2 m*100/100m= 1/2 meter
