My husband was a writer and published 9 books. That's all he ever wanted to be and often said writing was a craft that took a lot of work to improve and perfect.

Practice, practice, practice!
Write, write, write!

Rewrite, rewrite, rewrite!

He let his first draft sit for a few days before rewriting. Usually he wrote several drafts before sending the manuscript to a publisher.

Writing well is like doing well in any sport or craft. It takes a lot of practice and hard work to achieve competency.
