                write a balanced equation for:Gaseous carbon dioxide and liquid water react to produce aqueous glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen gas.
I try but everytime i change the coefficient it makes the other elements unbalanced.
the starting formula i got was:
CO2(g) + H2O(l) -> C6H12O6(aq) + O(g)
what are the coeficcients and how did u get it? thanks

    You make the whole process harder when you write O(g). It's O2 gas. See if that doesn't make everything easier.

    so what i have so far is:
6-CO2(g) + 12- H2O(l) -> 1-C6H12O6(aq) + 6- O2(g)
it said all the coefficients were correct except the 12 in front of the H20
how is that wrong?

    Count it up. You have 24 H atoms on the left and 12 on the right so it isn't balanced. You also have 24 O atoms on the left and 18 on the right. O doesn't balance either. (In other words, only the C balances). Two suggestions.
a. don't use dashes (-) between the coefficient and the substance, and
b. try a 6 H2O. That will take care of the problems with BOTH H and O.
