Explain what we learn about Captain Brown from the narrator of "Our Society at Cranford." please help with website, links or anything thanks

I found lots of sites (Yahoo answers, Justanswer, enotes, etc.) where a specific question was asked -- Is Captain Brown a flat or round character? Most were not answered very well, but it's not a bad question.
