                I really hope you can have a look at the following sentences.
1) My father worked as a production manager (?) for a famous confectionary company. His job involved making new chocolate pralines.
2) My mum works shifts (does shifts?). She is taking the 9 to 2 shift this week.
3) Peter was made redundant last week. He is on the dole at the moment. He cannot pay his home loan.
4) His job involves repairing electrical appliancens.

    1 and 2 are fine.
3 - What do you think "redundant" means here? I don't understand this sentence.
