make a table of values, graph. What does y equal when x is zero?

Hi bob. The table is what I do not understand. however when x is 0 I believe y is at 0 and if it is does that mean the y intercept is (0,0)?

yes, on the y intercept.
Now on the table: make a x,y table
x...y
Then put various values in for x, say 1,3,6,-4, figure the corresponding y, and fill in the table.
x...y
1...1/5 Ooops, now notice that y becomes a fraction, it helps if you choose x's that are multiple of 5, so rechoosing x, 0,5,10,-5
0...0
5...1
10..2
-5..-1
That is not so difficult. then graph.

You know I had also approached it this way since I find the tables a bit challenging. May I?
1/5 x; I wanted to choose a multiple of 5 so I chose -15. -15/5 = -3. First pt (-15,-3);
Then x = 10;
y = 10/5 = 2 Second pt (10, 2). I then chose a third point on the graph just to make sure;
y = 5/5 = 1. Third point (5,1). It seems to line up. What do you think?
