An angel, robed in spotless white,
Bent down and kissed the sleeping Night.
Night woke to blush; the sprite was gone.
Men saw the blush and called it Dawn.

Standing by my bed
in gold sandals
Dawn that very
moment awoke me

Moon fades into dawn...
an ivory moth settles
within the lily.

All three of these poems are about Dawn, and I have questions on all three of these which I need help with.

1. In these three poems about dawn, what colours are used to describe the rising sun?

-just the colors white and red?

2. What items are used to compare the appearance of dawn?

-blush, gold sandals, moon and ivory moth?

Do I have the answers correct?

1. I don't see red, but I do see "blush." They are not the same.

2. "... to compare the appearance of dawn" with what?

Frankly, I thought your questions were answered last night by Ms. Sue and Sra.

2. What items are used to compare the appearance of dawn?

To compare means you will be pointing out the ways in which two things are similar. I see only a reference to "dawn" here. With what are you supposed to compare dawn?

I'm going to put the "color" words in bold. What changes will you make in your response, if any?

An angel, robed in spotless white,
Bent down and kissed the sleeping Night.
Night woke to blush; the sprite was gone.
Men saw the blush and called it Dawn.

Standing by my bed
in gold sandals
Dawn that very
moment awoke me

Moon fades into dawn...
an ivory moth settles
within the lily.

So the angel? She is beautiful like the dawn. The gold sandals are soft and glowing like the dawn. The ivory colored moth represents a soft neutral touch of pleasantness. It provides a calming effect.

Be sure to add all those ideas to your response. Good.

The items ....

How do I start it off as a sentence, the angel isn't an item, she is a supernatural being, so how do I start if off?
Answered by Writeacher
You could refer to them as symbols, not things.
