Is going from 80 to 95 an increase or a decrease?

If you make $80 a day and get a raise to $95 a day -- did you get an increase or decrease in wages?

Answered by lilly
it saysFind each percent of change. tell weather the change is an increase or decrease. Where necessary round to the nearest tenth of percent.

Yay! You've got it!

If the temperature yesterday was 80 degrees and today it's 95 degrees, it has increased.

ok so how would I put it in a porportion and solve it?

Bob Pursley told you how to find it. Re-read his response.

would it be 18.8%
Answered by Ms. Sue
Right.

Answered by Daniel
Another way you could do it is do 95/80 = 1.1875 x 100 = 118.75
Then subtract 100% from that
118.75% - 100% = 18.75%
whoch rounds up to 18.8%
