During the Deanwood cleanup/food drive the community organizations in Ron brown such as National Honor Society, Student government and JROTC meet on the second friday of the month to clean the deanwood area and promote a trash free area. I have been apart of this since my freshamn year at Ron brown and this has taught me too be humble and kind to anyone regardless of their situation and always ... help me finish on why helping clean the community is good. Since my freshman year I have volunteered with the Deanwood cleanup and food drive, a monthly effort held on the second Friday where community organizations at Ron Brown—National Honor Society, Student Government, and JROTC—join to pick up litter and distribute food to promote a trash-free, supportive neighborhood. As a regular volunteer participant, I help collect and sort donations, clean public spaces, and assist with outreach; I have participated each year since 9th grade and spend about 2–4 hours per month (roughly 0.5–1 hour per week) on this activity. This work is important to me and my community because it has taught me to be humble and kind to everyone regardless of their situation and to take responsibility for our shared spaces, fostering pride, safety, and a healthier environment for all.
