Fix our Neighborhood Eyesore

Ms. Mendes,

I know that the Dave's Old-Fashioned Meat Market building on the corner of Pecan St. and Crockett St. has been destroyed in the six months since Dave closed the place. I live in the neighborhood and walk past the building on my way to work. I've seen the broken windows and spray-paint. I have also wondered what is going on.

The building looks the way it does today because Randstadt Builders bought the building from Dave with the plan to turn it into six small apartments. The city of Daleyville approved the sale. It then told Randstadt that turning the building into apartments was against the law. Right now, the city and Randstadt are fighting over this. The city will not allow Ranstadt to do anything to the building until this problem is solved.

It seems like you would like to help solve this problem. You can do that by going to Thursday's city council meeting and letting the city know that it should stick to its original deal and let Randstadt turn the building into apartments. Once Randstadt gets the city's approval, it can start fixing windows and cleaning up spray-paint.
