Get Together: Stock Portfolio Activity
Time has passed since you purchased the stock in your portfolio, and stock prices have changed (see NEW Stock Price in the chart). The amount of cash and the number of shares of stock you own will have remained the same, but the value of your shares of stock will have changed.
Calculate the new value of your portfolio by filling in the number of shares of stock you purchased during the Understanding Stocks session and multiplying that number by the new stock price.

I filled in the percent change for each stock and totaled the new stock values. I used the formula shown in your sheet: (New Stock Value − Previous Stock Value) / New Stock Value × 100%.
Completed values:
- GHA: Previous $2,300.00 → New $2,770.00 → Percent change = (2770 − 2300) / 2770 × 100% = +16.97%
- TTO: Previous $2,480.00 → New $2,060.00 → Percent change = (2060 − 2480) / 2060 × 100% = −20.39%
- FRB: Previous $1,450.00 → New $1,470.00 → Percent change = (1470 − 1450) / 1470 × 100% = +1.36%
- BBP: Previous $670.00 → New $300.00 → Percent change = (300 − 670) / 300 × 100% = −123.33%
- ISL: Previous $0.00 → New $0.00 (0 shares owned) → Percent change = N/A (no shares, division by zero)
- RAG: Previous $2,940.00 → New $3,010.00 → Percent change = (3010 − 2940) / 3010 × 100% = +2.33%
Subtotal of New Stock Value = $2,770 + $2,060 + $1,470 + $300 + $0 + $3,010 = $9,610.00
I don’t have your Cash on Hand amount from the Understanding Stocks session. Provide your cash-on-hand and I will compute:
Total Assets = Subtotal of New Stock Value ($9,610.00) + Cash on Hand.
