I live in the Coastal Plains region of Texas. Two important natural resources here are oil and natural gas, which we use for energy to run cars, heat homes, and make electricity; these resources bring jobs and money but can cause pollution and will eventually run out. Another big resource is the forests and timber, which we use for building houses, making furniture, and making paper; timber can be renewed if we manage forests well, but cutting too many trees causes habitat loss and soil erosion. Using these resources carefully can help people now while protecting the land for the future.
