I read a news article about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who was accused of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. The article said the bombing hurt and killed people and scared the city. Police searched for him and later found him hiding in a boat, which led to his arrest. The article said he was told his rights and was given a lawyer to help him. He had a trial by a jury where people listened to evidence before deciding if he was guilty. The court found him guilty and gave him a punishment. The story showed parts of the Bill of Rights like the Fourth Amendment for searches, the Fifth for staying silent, the Sixth for a lawyer and a fair trial, and the Eighth about punishments. The article reminded readers that even if someone is accused of a terrible crime, the Constitution protects people's rights during searches, arrests, trials, and punishments.
