Police say the break-in happened last week and they arrested him after finding the stolen computers in his car. Officers searched his car and his home, which connects to the Fourth Amendment that protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures. The article says he told police he would not answer questions until he had a lawyer, which is his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. He was given a court-appointed attorney, which comes from the Sixth Amendment right to have legal help. The man will have a criminal trial where a judge and jury will decide if he is guilty, and that is also part of the Sixth Amendment right to a speedy and public trial. The judge set bail, and the Eighth Amendment protects people from excessive bail or cruel and unusual punishment if they are convicted. These parts of the Bill of Rights are mentioned in the article to show how the legal system tries to protect people's rights while the case goes forward.
