My topic is the impact of school stress on youth anxiety and depression. That means I want to study how things like heavy homework, testing, college pressure, extracurriculars, and social problems at school can cause or make worse feelings of anxiety and depression in teenagers.

This topic deserves research because more students now report mental health problems, and school is a big part of most teens’ lives. Understanding how school-related pressures affect anxiety and depression could help teachers, parents, and schools create better support, improve learning, and prevent long-term problems.

I’m the right person to write about this because I’m a 10th grader who experiences school stress and has seen classmates struggle with anxiety and depression. I’ve talked with friends and teachers about this issue and I care about finding realistic solutions that can help students like me.

Possible thesis statement: School-related stress contributes to higher rates of anxiety and depression among adolescents because excessive academic pressure, heavy workloads, lack of sleep, and social stress reduce students’ coping abilities and access to support.
