ok. well first of all, use the product rule: f(x)g'(x) + g(x)f'(x) then set the derivative = to 0
(x^2 +12)(-2x) + (9-x^2)(2x)=0
(x^2 +12)(-2x) + (9-x^2)(2x)=0
