becouse 0.25 have 2 decimales.

3*0.25=0.75
You also multiply that on this way:

3.0*.25

3.0 have 1 decimal place
.25 have 2 decimal places

Total numbers of decimal places is 1+2=3
Thats why you must deduct 3 decimal places in this case.

3.0*.25 =0.750 =0.75
