Pathway 2 – Creative & Artistic
Create an original piece of art inspired by Black history or culture. Options include:
• Drawing, painting, collage
• Poem or spoken word
• Short story
• Song or rap (school-appropriate)
You must include an artist’s statement explaining your inspiration and message.


Pathway 3 – Culture & Community
Explore a cultural or community topic such as:
• HBCUs
• Black cuisine
• Black-owned businesses
• Nashville Black history (Jefferson Street, Fisk, TSU)
• A modern social issue
Your project must include a written explanation, significance to Black culture, and at least one source.
