The circulatory system uses the heart, blood, and blood vessels to carry oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and wastes to and from cells. This delivery lets cells make energy, grow, and repair so the body can move and work. It works with the respiratory system because the lungs put oxygen into the blood and take out carbon dioxide, which keeps the gases in balance. By teaming up with the digestive system for nutrients and the kidneys for waste removal, the circulatory system helps maintain homeostasis so the body stays at the right temperature and chemical balance.
