The Locket
by Kate Chopin

A Confederate soldier named Edmond misses his lover Octavie. He falls asleep reading her letter and is obnoxiously awakened by a fellow soldier to go into battle. After the battle, a priest finds a young man on the battlefield, wearing the locket Octavie had given to Edmond. He irresponsibly conveys to others that Edmond has died. Octavie mourns the loss of Edmond but later discovers he is actually alive. When they are reunited, Edmond tells Octavie that a thief had stolen the locket. Fortunately, it was that soldier who died and not Edmond.

It features opinions and judgments.

The summary uses subjective words like "obnoxiously awakened" and "irresponsibly conveys," which make judgments rather than sticking to neutral reporting of events.
