im painting a room that is 18 feet long, 14 wide and 8 tall. find the area of the 4 walls I'm going too paint. If the paint is 6.50$ a gallon and each gallon covers 128ft^2 of wall, how much will it cost to paint the room

Walls area = perimeter × height = 2(18 + 14) × 8 = 32 × 8 × 2? (better: 2×18×8 + 2×14×8)

Compute:
- two 18×8 walls = 2 × 144 = 288 ft²
- two 14×8 walls = 2 × 112 = 224 ft²
Total wall area = 288 + 224 = 512 ft²

Gallons needed = 512 ÷ 128 = 4 gallons
Cost = 4 × $6.50 = $26.00
