Red tape can be used to repair a broken taillight on a car. Explain in one or two sentences how different colors of light are transmitted, reflected, and absorbed by this kind of tape.

A taillight bulb makes white light (lots of colors), but red repair tape only lets the red part of that light pass through and soaks up the green and blue parts, so the light coming out looks red. Some light also bounces off or is scattered by the shiny tape surface, which can make the taillight dimmer or a little blurry.
