Red tape can be used to repair a broken taillight on a car. Explain in one or two sentences how different colors of light are transmitted, reflected, and absorbed by this kind of tape.

Red tape over a taillight lets red light from the bulb pass through so the light looks red, but it absorbs other colors (like blue or green) so those don't go through. Some light also bounces off the tape’s shiny surface (reflection), and the light that is absorbed is turned into a little bit of heat.
