Your solutions are correct, and you
should keep both of them.
If you were solving a guadratic Eq for
people, places or things; you would throw out the negative solution and keep the positive solution.
When you solve (√3n+10) - 4 = n, are the solutions n=-3 and n=-2. You don't have to reject any solutions, right?
