Graham walked straight to the back of the class and sat down without making eye contact with anybody. He had learned that the best way to fit into a new school was to cause as little fuss as possible. Eventually, he would make new friends, but to begin with he just wanted to be left alone. Everything was different at Hollyhead. The classrooms were bigger, the lessons were longer, the kids seemed meaner, and the food in the cafeteria was even worse than the food at Graham's last school. Graham was no stranger to changing schools. His father was in the military, so every two years the whole family had to pack up and move to a new area. Last time it had been California. Now, his family lived in Pennsylvania. Graham knew that he would get used to his new life. It would just take time.
