2. The South had better generals and they were fighting on their own land so they knew the ground and were fighting harder to defend it.
3. At Bull Run Stonewall Jackson held firm and Confederate reinforcements arrived so the Union troops panicked and ran, giving the South the win.
4. Even though Beauregard won, he got in trouble because he didn't chase the retreating Union army and people said he wasted the chance to finish them off.
5. Lee kept McClellan from getting even bigger by moving fast and attacking in ways that stopped McClellan from advancing or getting more reinforcements.
6. Lincoln was mad at McClellan after Antietam because McClellan won but didn't chase Lee and let his army get away.
