2) Internal Monologues in Fictional Writing
In the space below, write an internal monologue for one of the characters in your narrative. The monologue should reveal the character's internal thoughts and feelings and should help to tell the story. Write at least one paragraph of about six to seven sentences of internal monologue

Cae: “How much would it be for long French tip duck nails?”
Nail tech: “That would cost around $110, it depends on how many nails you want the French on”
Cae: “I want all French tips and I also want gems and charms”
Nail tech: “For gems and charms that would cost more.”
Cae: “How much more would that cost?”
Nail tech: “For each finger you’d like charms and gems on, it costs $5 for charms and $3 for gems.”
Cae: “Okay that’s fine, when are you available?”
Nail tech: “You can come in this Thursday at 3:15!”
Cae: “That sounds great, what payment method do you take?”
Nail tech: “You can cashapp, pay pal, or pay in cash.”
Cae: “Alright sounds good!”
Nail tech: “Thank you see you then!”

All French tips, gems and charms—it's exactly the kind of extra I need to feel like myself again. But $110 for the set, plus five dollars and three dollars per finger if I want both charms and gems—wait, math—ten fingers, that's at least another eighty, isn't it? That seems steep, but I've been scrimping on little joys since Mom's bills started piling up, and I deserve a treat. Thursday at 3:15 is perfect—right after work, giving me time to change out of the grease-stained apron and into something that makes me feel polished. I can CashApp it—no ATM lines—so it's all so easy, but easy doesn't mean it's not a splurge. Still, I can already feel the way the light will catch the gems, how my hands will look when I wave at strangers I want to impress, and the confidence that comes with a small, deliberate extravagance. Besides, nails are armor; if the world wants to throw something at me this week, let it ricochet off a perfectly manicured set of long French tips.
