The virus can enter your body when you breathe in tiny drops from someone who is sick or when you touch your nose or mouth with dirty hands. The drops carry the H1N1 virus into your nose and throat where the virus sticks to cells and puts its genes inside so the cell starts making more viruses. These new viruses break out of the cells and spread to more cells while your body notices the invasion and sends white blood cells and chemicals that cause fever, cough, runny nose and feeling tired. After some days your immune system makes special fighters called antibodies that stop the virus and help clean up the sick cells so the injured parts heal and you slowly feel better and are less likely to get the same virus again.
