Subject: Three qualities that make a great teacher

Dear Ms. Boettcher,

I think three important qualities that make a great teacher are patience, clear explanations, and caring.

1) Patience — A patient teacher gives students time to learn without rushing them. When a teacher is patient, students feel less nervous about making mistakes and are more willing to try hard problems.

2) Clear explanations — A teacher who explains things simply helps everyone understand the lesson. Clear steps and examples make homework and tests easier to do because we know what to do next.

3) Caring — A caring teacher makes students feel safe and respected. When a teacher cares, students feel more comfortable asking questions and doing their best.

These qualities are important to me because they help me learn better, feel confident, and want to participate in class.
