I don't see the monthly cost or the number of months filled in. In variables: if the cost is c dollars per month per child and the number of months is m, the total is 3·c·m.

If "a year" means 12 months, the total is 36·c (dollars). Provide the monthly cost and I will compute the numeric answer (without the $).
