Changes on Earth

We live on the planet Earth. We know about the land and water on Earth. But did you know that the earth used to look very different?


Long ago, the earth was one big continent. Then, this continent broke apart. It turned into seven continents. This took millions of years.



Change is always happening on Earth. Some changes are quick. They are easy to see. Some changes take millions of years.



A volcano is a quick change on Earth. It can shoot out lava. It can make cracks in the earth.



Erosion is a slow change. It takes millions of years. It wears down the earth. Wind, water, or ice change the shape of Earth.



Weathering is when rocks break down. Wind, water, and ice can do this too. Weathering is a slow change.



Sometimes people make changes on Earth too. They may cut down trees or move land. Some of these changes are good. Some of them are bad.



There are many different types of Earth changes. Some are quick. Others are slow. The earth is always changing!
