Todd did not like going to the dentist. He did not like when the dentist poked in his mouth.


Todd sat in the chair. He opened his mouth. The dentist stuck a metal thing in his mouth. “How are you today, Todd?” she said.


“Arrum . . .” said Todd. He could not talk with that thing in his mouth.


“Oh, good,” she said. “How is school?”


“Urrum . . .” he said. How could he talk?


“That’s good,” she said.


Todd did not try to talk anymore. The dentist finished cleaning his teeth. He was thrilled when it was over!
