Its just a general question. I'm trying to get the van't hoff factor and i think you need to know number of ions present.

There are two K+ ions, and one S-- ion, so three ions.
IN Mg(OH)2, there are three ions (Mg, two OH-)
IN Mg(OH)2, there are three ions (Mg, two OH-)
