the team on the data set that had the most wins in the AL for this year was the Chicago White Sox and their salary (per million) was $75.2 and in the NL it was the St. Louis Cardinals with a salary of $92.1 million. By comparing this we can see if the salary that was paid to the team members makes a difference in the total wins in a season. What would be step one and two in the null hypothesis?

We have no idea of the total wins for either team. Are you looking to find a significant correlation between wins and salaries?

Ho: Wins have no relation to salaries
ha: Wins are positively correlated to salaries
