Poem 1 — First person

I carry the small heat of your hand
like a coin in my pocket,
spinning it between thumb and memory.
Outside, rain writes your name on the glass;
inside, I press my palm to the cold window
and listen for the shape of us returning.

Poem 2 — Third person

He folds morning into the curve of his chair,
cups of coffee cooling like gray moons.
The street breathes past — a ribbon of bus tires and dog leashes —
and he watches a child chase sunlight
as if it were something you could catch and keep.
When the light slips between buildings, he smiles
as though remembering how to belong to the day.
