7x - 5 = 90
7x = 95
x = 95/7
x = ?

first of you have to solve all the numbers of the x side of the equation.
(3x-5)+2x=90
add 5 both sides of the equation to the 90 side
3x+2x=95
consolidate your Xs
5x=95
divide both sides by 5
x=19
(3x-5)+2x=90
add 5 both sides of the equation to the 90 side
3x+2x=95
consolidate your Xs
5x=95
divide both sides by 5
