whats the difference to an informative email vs a positive email?

I just read several emails between some of the Jiskha teachers. One of them lives in southern California near where the wild fires are so devastating. She informed us about conditions near her and how she was doing. The others sent positive emails telling her we are thinking about her and wishing her well.
