a kid goes down a slide, accelerating at 1 m/s^2 for 3 seconds. if he starts at rest, how long is the slide ?
this is the equation i have but i need Xi which i have NO clue what it is ..
Xf= Xi+ 0m/s(3s)+1/2 (1m/s^2)(3^2s)
solving for Xf ... need Xi

Since he started from rest, the initial velocity is zero:
d = 0.5at^2.
d = 0.5 * 1 * 3^2 = 4.5 m.
d = 0.5at^2.
d = 0.5 * 1 * 3^2 = 4.5 m.
