Ephesians 4:29 teaches, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs." One specific way I can improve my speech in light of this is to pause and ask myself before I speak whether my words will build the listener up; if they will not, I will either reframe them into constructive encouragement or remain silent.
