Building toward Rio
Read the passage "Building toward Rio" and then answer the questions that follow.
Isabela owns and manages Isabela's Ironworks, a small iron refinery in Pará, Brazil. She built her refinery in Pará because much of Brazil's iron ore is mined in that state. Knowing that demand for pig iron would increase once the construction of new stadiums for the 2016 Rio Olympics began, in 2014 Isabela purchased two new blast furnaces capable of refining iron ore into pig iron. In order to pay for the furnaces, Isabela took out a business loan backed by her own personal property as well as the refinery's property.
