Biblically, after the Ascension Jesus “sat down at the right hand of God” (Mark 16:19; Acts 2:33; Luke 24:51; Hebrews 1:3). This expresses that his saving work is completed and that he now reigns with authority. Scripture also teaches he continues to intercede for believers (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25), so he did not withdraw from activity, nor is the picture one of sitting at the Father’s left or feet. Continuous animal sacrifice is not taught; Hebrews says his one offering was once for all.
